GMAN2YOU Posted February 2, 2022 Share Posted February 2, 2022 Hello Guy's and Gal's I'm happy to see such knowledge on Klipsch systems, I was given a pair of these speakers and found out that one of the woofers has an open in the voice coil I would like to replace both woofers, but I'm wondering which woofer would give me better bass and power handling for the size of these cabinets. would you go with the Eminence Delta Pro 12 or the Evm 12 L. I used The Eminence Delta Pros in a scratch-built pair of Claude’s, @ClaudeJ1, Super Heresys, with good results. I also acquired a pair of HIPs with the EV woofers. One had a bad voice coil. Rather than replacing the woofer(s), Claude recommend a local re-coning service. Both EV speakers were re-coned with excellent results. You might ask local professional musicians for recommendations regarding businesses they use to keep their guitar amps and PAs working. Thanks Either one will do, but the best is Kappalite 3012 HO, and the cheapest, BEST bang for the buck is: the Eminence Kappa 12a! The EV is most expensive and not worth it IMHO. GMAN2YOU Posted February 2, 2022 Author Share Posted February 2, 2022 Thank You! you guys are the best, yeah I would love to have them reconed out here in the west, BUT! we don't have any good services that either repair electronics or does any reconing anymore, we have lost many brick-and-mortar business's because of high rents. can the cones with vc's be ordered for these drivers? and who would have the best reconing kits?
