I recognize a significant improvement in sound between Chinese 300B tubes and KR and Western Electrics. In one amp, a "lesser" Mullard KT-88 sounds much clearer than the higher price Gold Lion. Your results may vary, but different tubes, like different transistors and digital op/amps, have differing sonic signatures.
