Jim Cornell
This might sound strange, but i think the new side grill gave my Klipschorns more bass LOL! Caint be can it? Regards Jim
Jim Cornell
LOL not a scarf, this time i used some Wal Mart material LOL Regards Jim
Soundthought
What kinda of material? Maybe, it's restricting some of the airflow, causing some wave related issues. You can do the old smoke test to get an idea how well sound travels through it. Cheers, John.
Jim Cornell
This is pretty thin, thinner than the forte material, and so was the scarf LOL If the bass wasnt getting thru these grills, id have no bass, unless i forgot to cut out holes LOL I made these not knowing what they look like, i hope im close? No restrictions here, so where is the winner of the contest, did i miss it LOL Regards Jim
Soundthought
I don't know, brother. Spider Wire is pretty thin too. But that doesn't nessesarily make it weak. LOL Thickness of material doesn't always relate directly to its permeablity. As a general rule it might, but some stuff will fool ya. IMO. I like a thicker grill fabric on my speaker grills. It's almost like having two different speakers in one. You got your grill on sound. And Grill off sound. My Fortes are great that way. Now for the fifty million dollar question. How does it sound to you, now? Cheers John
Jim Cornell
Sounds great, on the Klipschorns a little grill MUFF on the top end isnt a bad idea, the Chorus were the same way, brighter with the grills off than with them on! Im sure its the same on the fortes, same material, on my 1 set of cornwalls, that cane grill was the worst for stopping the quality of sound ! It was almost like, sound going thru wood LOL Regards Jim
