Jeff R
I've got a KD-17 from a KP480 that I need to recone. I understand that the center of the spider should have a weight made of epoxy covering metal. I don't have that weight. If I have to fabricate, any idea of the weight spec?
billybob
Is there no way to recycle the weight you have? Or to weigh it? Thanks!

Jeff R
Here's the weird thing. I could not locate the weight to reuse as Simply Speakers suggests. There's no way it could have left the cabinet. Dust Cap was off, so I even checked to see if there was a weight stuck to the magnet of the 18" driver. I also did not detect any epoxy residue or the like in the neck of the torn cone. Almost as if there never was a weight or someone reconed without one. I just assumed Klipsch would not have the passive resonator for a cab that is 20 years old, but I will definitely check on that. Jeff R
BTW, SS says it is 4.2 oz. and they have in the past fabricate one using fourteen 1" fender washers and epoxy.
Jeff R
I have searched high and low for Klipsch parts. If they sell the KD-17, they don't want you to know it. Can anybody share contact info for Klipsch parts?
