peterbwreal
I am considering upgrading from KG4s to Cornwalls, using a Hafler DH500 power-amp with a 110 pre-amp. The room is average size with high ceiling and awkward speaker placement (the grand piano gets in the way!). Are the Cornwalls overkill? Thanks - Peter
JCturboT
Peter, I wouldn't say that the Cornwalls would be overkill at all.The 'corns are one of the best speakers Klipsch ever made and I personally think that once you hear them you won't miss the KG4s one bit-thats saying a lot. marksdad
the corns are in no way overkill. it seems that no matter what i do, which music i play, at any volume, the corns just sound so good, warm, defined, corns play well on all of my amps, they are an awsome speaker, once you hear them you will make the necessary room to accomodate these grand gems
jt1stcav
I second the motion, ditto, I concure, yes...just do it! Even though my Cornwalls are installed in a small room with nearfield placement (not the best setup), they sing nonetheless, despite this non-perfect arrangement! Once I finally install my system into a dedicated music room, then my Cornwalls will sound even better! Work around the piano, you won't regret it once you hear 'em. Mike82
While the Cornwalls aren't overkill, the 250 w/ch Hafler, IMO, is. I'd recommend finding tube (SET or push-pull, up to 30 w/ch) amplification, either an integrated or separate pre/amp if you really want to heat the Cornwalls sing!
