  2. Just put a fresh coat of Boiled Linseed Oil on the Klipschorns and watched the ball drop in Time Square with the entire Famiy. Here's to a healthy and happy 2016 to everyone. Jeff

  6. Well lets hope we get some new Celtics/Lakers moments after the C's put away Detroit last nite. I'll have a drink for Johhny Most. Jeff
  7. Moon, Great topic and one that I am very familiar with as I am a 80's nut myself. I have that Kingdom Come cd as well and they really got a bad rap for sounding so much like Zepplin..so much so they were labeled "Kingdom Clone" back in the day. Some great band mentioned already but I'll add to the list. Accept/Alien/Asia/Babylon AD/Jon Butcher Axis/Bangalore Choir/Cinderella/Danger Danger/Europe/Guiffria/Hugo/Keel/Yngwie Malmsteen/Shotgun Messiah/MSG & McAuley Shenker Group/Gary Moore/Vinny Moore/Rainbow/Rough Cutt/Savatage/Shadow King/Billy Squier/Stryper/The Storm/Survivor/Tesla/Ten/TNT/Triumph/Twisted Sister/Vandenberg/Victory/Vinnie Vincent. Ahhh..the memories! Jeff

Coytee, I,too, wanted a hot/cold combo faucet and did mine in the summer of '05.Here is the review I did on mine- http://plumbing.gillroys.com/Kitchen_and_bath_faucets_and_parts/Laundry__and_frost_proof_faucets/Horizontal_Anti-siphon_Frostproof_Hot_and_Cold_Wall_Hydrant-s428629.htm I looked at the Woodford model but chose a horizontal model Arrowhead Brass faucet.Almost 2 years and no problems. Jeff
  9. If this is in fact true it is truely sad- http://www.canada.com/topics/entertainment/story.html?id=1f27cabe-643f-4e39-a18e-953d978ada61&k=55126 Jeff

  11. Surprise-surprise...auction has been cancelled. So, who else got an "fake" email from the seller? Jeff
  12. What did you need to know? I have a complete C/M 85 series setup from the mid-late 80's as well as a complete 2000 series Yamaha setup.I have several magazines as well as Yamaha brochure's from this period as well. Good stuff. Jeff
  13. Ray, Sorry to hear about your Wifes sleeping problems, for when you can't sleep every area of your life is affected in a negative way. I have had sleeping problems all my life and most recently have been diagnosed with a herniated disc with sciatica so sleeping these days is a crapshoot at best. I was in need of a new mattress so I began the search for the best mattress for my body. At first I thought memory foam was the answer but after spending some time on a relatives Tempur-pedic as well as testing them out in the mattress showrooms I knew this wasn't the answer and, from reading across the net, alot of people are on the same page. That's when I was introduced to Latex mattresses...all natural and supportive without the "push-back" of a coil-sprung mattress or the "quicksand-likeness" of memory foam. Just recently I purchased a Latex mattress "kit" from www.sleepez.com and am on my second nite with it.The benefit of the kits are that you can unzip the mattress and change firmness at will so in essence the mattress it built to your specifications...not some factories. You can also design each side so you have a his & hers custom mattress as well as pick your topper-need it be another sheet of softer later or memory foam if desired. I will keep you informed how I make out with mine (fingers crossed). If you want some good reading check out this webpage http://www.whatsthebest-mattress.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.pl?board=wtb-mattress Hope this helps, Jeff
  14. Where in MA are you located? Jeff
  15. Ahhhh...I remeber that video well, my Brother used to own it back in the 80s. Todays Hard rock/Metal artist should view it as a "How to" as most of what's out there is surely lacking. Jeff
  16. http://shop.store.yahoo.com/legacy2/klipschsa3new.html This place has one set left in stock (I called the 1-800 #) but unfortunely they do not ship Klipsch, only pickup in NJ. They are asking $649.00 Jeff
  17. Thebes, I myself like "Another one rides the bus" sung to the tune of Queens "Another one bites the dust". ....and who could forget Shaving Cream? Jeff
  18. You guys have brought up some good points but don't forget this is an audio forum, sort of our hobby and if doesn't "break the bank" our spouses are for the most part-ok with it . I have yet to lose any money on any of my audio purchases and I do like to try different things (mainly those recommended to me on this forum) but I also am a smart (Re:Frugal) shopper and don't jump on the first item I see. But, if you talk to the "masses" they are more than happy with their Bose cubes and are actually quite proud of the sound coming from these "cute" speakers.Back in the day it was all about big items Cars, Speakers, etc. and now-a-days it's more about the small factor, i-pods, BWM Mini's, etc. I have had two of my Wifes friends make comments about my Klipschorns ranging from "I don't believe you let Jeff have these speakers in your living room" to "why don't you just get a Bose Wave radio? It's the best out there" so you can see what most peoples idea of "high end" is. Luckily, my wife is ok with my hobby and my two children adore music in general so I joke with my wife that "It's not for me, it's for the Family" Jeff
  19. Travisc, I live in Fitchburg, MA, about a 20 minute drive from your old stompin' grounds in Littleton. Jeff
  20. I think tjnif meant Gransby,CT...but there is a Granby,MA which is just outside Amherst. Jeff
  21. Soundthought, Don't know if you checked out the Yamaha site but here is some basic info- http://www2.yamaha.co.jp/manual/pdf/av/english/SepA/C-2a.pdf There is also some good info on the Audiokarma site- http://audiokarma.org/forums/search.php?searchid=661859 I own two complete Yamaha sets, the 2000 series, and the 85 series, both TOTL from Yamaha in their day and am very happy as they match up quite nicely with the ultra-sensitive Klipschorns, which as we all know show any faults in the chain. If I can come up with any more info I will let you know. Jeff
