Deang
how can I tell if the pots on the back of my dq's are lpads or not?
Deang
So, I hook the driver leads to the lpad, and my multimeter leads to the legs of the lpad (one in the center and one on the left or right), and then turn the knob to see if impedance varies? Does the driver have to be under a load for this to work?
Marvel
With the driver attached to the LPAD, use your meter across the input terminals (what would be coming from the amp). You should see the resistance stay the same as you adjust the slider. Make sure you have no power on (actually, disconnect the speaker from the amp). I could send a drawing if you need it. Deang
Marvelous Marvel -- thanks, I got it.
Deang
What I have is a 25 ohm variable resistor. The knob turned all the way to the left gives me 0 ohms. As I turn it to the right it goes up -- and maxes out at 25.1 ohms. So -- this is not an Lpad, correct?
WMcD
The attached flyer will provide some information. I have some L-pads with a brand name of Violet. They resemble a potentiometer in form in that they are a single black box. However, inside you have the two pots controlled by a single shaft.
