Lpad or regular old pot

So, I hook the driver leads to the lpad, and my multimeter leads to the legs of the lpad (one in the center and one on the left or right), and then turn the knob to see if impedance varies? Does the driver have to be under a load for this to work?

With the driver attached to the LPAD, use your meter across the input terminals (what would be coming from the amp). You should see the resistance stay the same as you adjust the slider. Make sure you have no power on (actually, disconnect the speaker from the amp). I could send a drawing if you need it.

The attached flyer will provide some information.

I have some L-pads with a brand name of Violet. They resemble a potentiometer in form in that they are a single black box. However, inside you have the two pots controlled by a single shaft.
