JasN00b
for one reason or another, i no longer get audio from my DVD player. i'm using an optical cable. i can see light coming out of the end of the optical cable, if that means anything. i figure the cable is bad, but does anybody have any other suggestions? Bruinsrme
Seeing light is good. The only thing I can think of is the cable is not pushedin all the way or a configuration setting.
dougdrake
Try using an electrical connection (regular RCA connection) and see if you get sound. Then find out what's different, if anything, between the two situations (other than cable), such as settings, connection "tightness", so forth. justin_tx_16
I had this happen. Even though it was sending out a red light, no sound was coming through the receiver. Turned out that a power surge had reset the audio properties. So I had to go into the DVD Player menu and select Digital output, even though it was sending out a red light. Diggs
I had the same problem. My receiver wasn't receiving the digital signal from my optical cable, even though it had light coming throught he other end (Nice and technical eh? ) Turns out the optical cable was bad. If you bump them even slightly they can go bad, which is what I must've done moving the receiver around. Tried the Xbox optical cable and it was fine. Decided I'd go back to coax cables. No more optical for me.
