peterbwreal
Please provide opinions/feedback on Klipsch LF-10 or LF-12 subwoofers - if possible how they would complement Belles playing mostly classical and classic jazz. Does anyone have any experience with these puppies? Thanks!
Klipsch Employees Trey Cannon Posted March 6, 2003 Klipsch Employees Share Posted March 6, 2003 At low volumes the LF10 will do fine. The LF-12 was never built and never went into production.
fabulousfrankie
Do a search here on the LF-10, you'll find it wasn't the most reliable sub.
TheEAR
YES I HAVE AN EXPERIENCE WITH THE LF10 It ended in disaster...for the LF10 The LF10 was plagued by AIR LEAKS,AMP CLIPPING/DRIVER BOTTOMED OUT! On a max SPL test at 20Hz the damn voice coil hit the back plate(after the former was RUBBING on the magnetic structure!).It clipped in a nasty was a few times too! Lets say my trusty warrior the SUnfire Mark II(my first powerful sub BTW)is STILL IN TOP NOTCH shape and works like a charm. And the Mark II would have a few good reasons to stop working, but no it keep on pumping. The LF10...gone a long time ago, nothing to brag about. I say pass on this one If you want small and good, listen to a Sunfire Mark IV(Mark II replacement)or Velodyne SPL1000. They both crush the LF10 with ease
RWMIN
Not to mention total amp failure. I had 2 of the boat anchors. Klipsch did do an excellent job in replacement and warranty / dealer credit with both of them.
