Terminus
I was wondering if it was safe placing the SWS sub on top of the 5.1 sub? It seems that the SWS weighs more (FedEx says it weighed in at 33lbs) but the 5.1 sub is wider. I think this question was asked before but I dont remember anyone giving a clear answer and I would also like to hear what one of the mods has to say (since they know of the official specs). Also I noticed the switches on the back panel and was wondering if I needed to change from the defaults so both subs dont cancel each other out. The way I have them now (the SWS on top of the 5.1) it seems as if the SWS is pumping out most of the really noticeable bass while the 5.1 is hardly breaking a sweat...? justin_tx_16
placement is fine, they won't hurt each other as far as phase and crossover, depends on the system.
TheEAR
Easy just flip the phase switch on your SWS.Then listen again,do you hear much more or much less bass? When the PM5.1 sub cancels the SWS bass output will be quite poor(if both are placed close,or stacked)..When both work as a team bass output should be efortless. In phase both the PM5.1 woofers and the SWS cones move out and in at the same time.Out of phase one of the subs goes in while the other out.Not good I did experiment with my HGS18 working aginst my Revel B15.Funny,almost no sub bass and the cones move alot.Great visuals but no audio fireworks
