Mike82
I'm also considering trying these. The money-back feature makes it no-risk. FWIW, while at the MWAF in Lima a couple weeks ago, I saw a few rooms using these on their amps, etc. I asked about how they liked them and everyone I spoke to had only positive comments. sunnysal
I use the "tube coolers" from pearl. I like the fact that they also act as heat sinks to lower the temperature of the tubes as well as dampen vibration. regards, tony
Deang
I have found the smaller signal tubes on preamps to be more microphonic than power tubes (with the exception of the 1st generation KR300BXLS' I had). I do think it's a good idea to put the dampers on tubes that are sanwiched between transformers. The Pearls are nice, although a little pricey. AnalOg
On a DIY note, I have an assortment of heat resistent O-rings that I use in my industry. I have been experimenting with them on driver tubes & power tubes, the sound does tighten up. 10 bucks for a teflon ring and some rubber rollers, is a little on the high side for me. If you don't have another source for something similair, I guess its worth a try. I'm going to be sending some to Craig for a try and see what he thinks. Strabo
They are a good company to deal with also. I ordered their record mat and it arrived by the end of the week.
