mca_bagom
Looking for a new DVD player. Looking for a decent player that is progressive scan. Is it better just to get a player like the new Denon 910 or the 1600? But should I just bite the bullet and get the 2900? SACD is not a feature that I really need, since you can all ways pick up a SACD player for about $200.
avman
i wouldn't spend too much on a dvd player, although i can understand the quality of the more expensive offerings out there right now, there is already 2 or so dvd players w/dvi out that up-convert 480p dvd to 720p/1080i hd!! avman. damonrpayne
Uh, what are those DVD players with the built in line-doublers? Brand/Model please?
Frzninvt
Here are some reviews, maybe they will help you decide. Read the reviews at AudioReview.com and see what actual owners think on the models that you are considering. http://www.hometheaterhifi.com/cgi-bin/shootout.cgi?function=search&articles=all&type=DVD+Player&manufacturer=0&maxprice=0&deInt=0&mpeg=
mca_bagom
Thanks for the web site. Wow the 1600 looks like a hit. Anyone have this player? Any concerns?
arthurs
I have the 1600 in my family room setup for the wife and kids. I migrated it after upgrading to the 2900 in my HT. If you don't want to sink the money for the 2900, I'd easily reccomend the 1600, it's a great player on all accounts, audio, video and DVD-A.
