fec
Hi - hope you're all well today.... My question for the panel is: Does the Forte II share it's crossover with other models? How similar is it to the Heresy crossover? If anyone has one available left over from a project or something I'd like to get hold of one....thx FC
itsmyforte
closest match would be a forte 1, i would think. I can maybe lay it out for you if i get the time.
fec
Sir J: I don't know that I am capable of building one, so I'd hate for you to waste time figuring it out, if that's what you were offering.
boomac
Check out the Quartet. Both HF crossovers (7000 hz) and MF crossovers (650 hz) are the same. The Quartet and Forte II also share the same HF and MF horns as well as the K61 mid driver. Go to Klipsch main page - click classic product then Heritage. Malcolm
Considering the squawker driver and tweeter, it won't be like a Heresy.
jerohm
Actually the low pass LC circuits are very different between the Quartet (4mH/80uF) and Forte II(2.7mH/110uF). The Forte II and Quartet woofers are 4 ohm. The Hersey woofers are 8 ohm and I am TOLD use (2.5mH/68uF). I have never been able to figure out how these values were determined... but they DO SOUND right !
Malcolm
Heresy woofer circuit up through about 1983 used 2.5 mH inductor only. 33 uF cap was added with the change to the K-53-K squawker driver and K-22-K woofer.
