big c
I would like to get a center speaker to match my rp3 towers. I am looking at the rc3 and rc35. Is the rc7 with its 8" woofers an over match for my rp3 towers. Recommendations please.
itsmyforte
the RC-3 is the best match but the RC-7 should do ok. though the RC-3 was made at the same time as the RP-3 so i'd imagine its a better match. RS-3 would be the best surrounds as well. if you can't find those then RS and RC 35's would be the next best thing. RC and RS 7 may be a bit overbearing compared to RP-3's. marksdad
i dont mean to argue, but the 3's are really smaller than a person thinks, the rp would overshadow the 3's, i had two of them with my rf 5's and i had to turn the volume up to hear dialog, once i switched to the rc 7 it all went back to normal
big c
Ok one more ? the distance from the center to the listeing position is 10'. The room dimentions are 15'x16'. I just want to get the best possible match, so I buy only one time.
RickB
If you can do it get the RC-7. The RC-3 doesn't compare, its too easy to overpower it. If you get the RC-7 just be sure to calibrate with a SPL meter and I think you'll be very pleased.
prodj101
RC-7, not RC-3.
