Roboto
Trying to find out how many people have heat problems with their Amps. Thinking of either repairing my 4.1 or getting the new 5.1 Ultras. Or maybe will get the Creative Gigaworks if the heat problems still occur with the Promedias. MD1032
What do you mean heat problems? The heat is completely normal. GET THE ULTRA'S. They completely own any other PC MM system out there.
jackson_ngo
specify what heat problem are u talking about. All amps is going to get warm when working, there's nothing wrong with it. Roboto
I talking about my amp heating up till it does not work properly. When I just bought the 4.1s, I had to send it in for and exchange less than a month after I used it because it overheated. Now after 2 and a half years the same problems appeared again. So in the shop at this very moment. When I was there saw a few other promedias, so just wanted to know how many people we experiencing the same problems. I would expect my sub to work for longer than a couple of years. No need to get nasty about it. Someone really protective about Klipsch. For someone who likes Klipsch so much, I don't see any Klipsch components in his Home Theater setup.
jackson_ngo
haha the HT belongs to my dad, whatever system he uses does't bothers me
007
why is your dad's HT in your sig? where is yours? I rightfully dont own one cuz I cant afford it, but ****, I would not be putting my parents crap in my sig Roboto, I would send it in, and get it fixed if its less then 60 bucks. A new system is gonna coast a lot if you want anything as good as the 4.1's. If you get it fixed, try a fan behind the amp.
jackson_ngo
so what if i wanna post it? i'm free to use the HT if i want to. just shut up if u can't afford it. i like post it under my sig, so wat can u do to me? it's your problem if you don't wanna post. why are u so nosy? no one asked for your opinion

Roboto
Just got the amp back. Paid S$95 for the repairs. Tech told me that some of the resistors got fried. Recommended that I switch off either the back switch or the mains, when not in use. He said that the temp in the box would get higher and higher if you leave it on even if there is no signal to it. Just to be safe I attached a temperature probe to monitor it. Running temperature so far is about 35 degrees Celcius. Hope it last for more then 2 years this time. seafarer
Hey Roboto, I got the PM Ultra's and I keep a small fan blowing on the back of the Sub Woofer/Amp it does a great job of keeping it cool.
Roboto
Thanks Seafarer, will try that once my amp temp goes above 40 degrees. Wonder anyone has tried installing heatsinks to the back plate?
