cpudoctor23
Optical is definitely the best way to go for best sound quality.
gunman45
My Pioneer says to plug in both the coaxial or optical and the analog connections as well. Does you SACD/DVD shuttle have Front/Surround/Center and Sub Woffer Connentions?
big c
YOUR DIGITAL OUT IN THE BACK OF YOUR DVD PLAYER SENDS THE SIGNAL TO YOUR RECEIVER FOR DD AND DTS PLAY BACK. THE 5.1 ANALOG IS FOR DVD AUDIO AND SACD PLAY BACK ASSUMING YOUR DVD PLYER CAN PLAY THESE FORMATS. SO YOU DO NEED THE ANALOG 5.1 FOR DVD AUDIO AND SACD AND THE DIGITAL FOR YOUR DVDS MOVIES. Moderators dtel Posted December 22, 2003 Author Moderators Share Posted December 22, 2003 Thanks for the help. Pioneer dv 563a.it does play dvd a and sacd. only $179. worth a try ,it seems to have pretty good reviews at this price range. i think i will hook up both and try . this reciever has a button you press for 6 channel inputs which removes any dsp programs which is what i would rather have for dvd a or sacd it would also eliminate the optical connection , this may work. Thanks again , yall have a merry christmas.
marksdad
for sacd and dvd-a you need the analog inputs or it will not play, for dvd i use the digital, manuals specify using both as well
