montigue
hey guys I just bought two Klipsch KG 2.2's for $100 from ebay. I have a couple of questions about them. The seller said that there is a buzzing sound coming from one of the speaker's. Does anybody know what this could be. Does it sound like I need to replace a woofer or tweeter? if so how hard is it to replace them and where do I get one? please help!! Also I was thinking of using these two speakers for rear channels. I know that they are normally used for centers but would there be a sound problem if used for rear's? KG 5.2 main KLF C-7 center KG 2.2 rear's ??????? drewzter
buzzing could be one of many things... he may have had them hooked up wrong, may have had a short in his setup somewhere, interference from something, who knows... you'll have a better idea once you hook them up at your own house. as far as using them for rears - sounds like a winner to me. seems like they'd be great. there is at least one person here using c7's as surrounds (or at least people have talked about using them) just went and read his description on eBay - he says he used it on top of a big-screen TV and it's not magnetically shielded. I believe that TV's a pretty reliable source of some interference. Correct me if i'm wrong, guys... ------------------ Front: dbx Soundfield V - 15" woofer, 8" mid, ribbon tweet, 3.25" mid & dome tweet on top Center: KLF C7 Rear Surround: Polk f/x bipole/dipole Amp: Yamaha RX-V990 100x3; 25x2 DVD: Yamaha DVD S795 (built-in DD Processor) CD: Yamaha CDC 575 5-Disc VCR: Toshiba M752 6-head TV: Mitsubishi 40" Tube DirecTV Sony Playstation w/ s-vid & RCA V990 for awesome gaming picture & sound! Guest BobG
the 2.2's will make pretty good surround match for the rest of your system. The buzz is not likely from the TV but rather a defective driver. No way to tell which one till you listen. Contact us at 800-klipsch to obtain any repair parts you reqire. Frzninvt
So your the lucky devil that picked those up on the "Buy it Now" feature. I got to them too late. I was going to replace my ESS mini's with some KV 2.2's. It sounds as if you have a burnt voice coil in one of the 6" drivers I am not sure if both woofers are active or not but it shouldn't be too difficult to replace one of the drivers. I initially had a KV 2.2V as a center channel and it sounded great, but I have since graduated to a KV-4. You will be very pleased with them once you get them fully operational, a very nice surround speaker indeed. ------------------ Sony KP-43T70 43" Television Denon AVR 3300 A/V Receiver (LF/RF) (LWE-I's w/Motion Feedback - Walnut) Yamaha M-80 Auto Class A Amplifier (LF/RF) (Belle's - Oak Clear/Cane Grills) DBX BX-2 2/3/4 Channel Power Amplifier (RR/ARR/LR/ALR) (Heresy II's (Walnut/Cane) & ESS Mini Monitors (Walnut)) DBX MPA-150 Mono Split Spectrum Amplifier © (KV-4 - Black) Klipsch KSW-15 Powered Subwoofer (2) Nakamichi DVD-10 DVD/LCD/CD Player Nakamichi MB-10 Music Bank CD Changer Technics SL-DL5 DDLinear Tracking Turntable JVC HR-S7500U SVHS Video Cassette Recorder VC3 Deluxe Video Clarifier DBX 400XG Program Route Selector DBX 120X-DS Subharmonic Synthesizer/Crossover DBX 3BX-DS 3-Band Dynamic Range Controller (2) (1-LC) (1-RC) DBX 14/10 14-Band Computerized Equalizer/RTA Analyzer/SPL Meter Panamax 1000+ Surge Protector/Line Conditioner Sega Dreamcast w/3 Controllers & VMU's/S-Video Output Bedroom Yamaha RX-900U Receiver Panasonic DVD-A120U DVD/CD Player Sony SLV-740HF Hi-Fi VCR BBE - ARS Audio Recovery System A/D/S L300E Mini Speakers GE 20" Television
