hey guys I just bought two Klipsch KG 2.2's for $100 from ebay. I have a couple of questions about them.

The seller said that there is a buzzing sound coming from one of the speaker's. Does anybody know what this could be. Does it sound like I need to replace a woofer or tweeter? if so how hard is it to replace them and where do I get one? please help!!

Also I was thinking of using these two speakers for rear channels. I know that they are normally used for centers but would there be a sound problem if used for rear's?

KG 5.2 main

KLF C-7 center

KG 2.2 rear's ???????

buzzing could be one of many things...

he may have had them hooked up wrong, may have had a short in his setup somewhere, interference from something, who knows...

you'll have a better idea once you hook them up at your own house.

as far as using them for rears - sounds like a winner to me. seems like they'd be great.

there is at least one person here using c7's as surrounds (or at least people have talked about using them)

just went and read his description on eBay - he says he used it on top of a big-screen TV and it's not magnetically shielded.

I believe that TV's a pretty reliable source of some interference.

Correct me if i'm wrong, guys...

I know someone that uses 2.2's as surrounds.I used to have 2.5's as surrounds(same)and loved them.

The noise might be something loose or a bad speaker.Parts are still to be had.Good price.cwm35.gif

the 2.2's will make pretty good surround match for the rest of your system. The buzz is not likely from the TV but rather a defective driver. No way to tell which one till you listen. Contact us at 800-klipsch to obtain any repair parts you reqire.

So your the lucky devil that picked those up on the "Buy it Now" feature. I got to them too late. I was going to replace my ESS mini's with some KV 2.2's. It sounds as if you have a burnt voice coil in one of the 6" drivers I am not sure if both woofers are active or not but it shouldn't be too difficult to replace one of the drivers. I initially had a KV 2.2V as a center channel and it sounded great, but I have since graduated to a KV-4. You will be very pleased with them once you get them fully operational, a very nice surround speaker indeed.
