Magazines or books?

Looking for a good Home Theater magazine subscription. Any suggestions? Used to get Stereo Review, but it didn't do too much for me.

How about books?

You can get a feel for what the magazine is like by checking out the website.

Take a look at http://www.guidetohometheater.com/

http://www.stereophile.com

http://www.theabsolutesound.com

http://www.enjoythemusic.com/ultimateaudio/

http://www.enjoythemusic.com/hfnrr/

http://www.enjoythemusic.com/listener/

http://www.enjoythemusic.com/tav/

I realize almost all of these have a focus on two channel sound, but all of them cover home theater to one degree or another. The reason the last four all point at enjoythemusic is that enjoythemusic hosts the online presence for the other magazines.

  • 2 weeks later...

As far as books go check out TAB's book on acoustics I think it was called " The master handbook on acoustics " Very good publication. I have a couple of old stereo books. One is " the practicle handbook of stereo and hi- fi " written in 1973. The other is called " High fidelity systems " by Roy Allison ( Acoustic Research ) written in 1962. Pretty outdated stuff by todays standards but fun to look at all the old gear.
