emmpeethree
it seems that even if i turn down surround volume to the min on the console that its still the same volume as the fronts ... but when i change the fade on my santa cruz, the bass messes doesn't sound as wholesome. any fixes? hooting_monkey
You sure you just don't have the front and rear cables switched on accident?
Bohemian_Rhapsody
the rears are supposed to be louder... move the surround volume knob around and adjust the rears to a level of your liking...
jackson_ngo
the rears should not be louder than the fronts. the front speaker is the main channel, the fronts are the one who should be doing most of the job. My rear are mostly mute unless playing a movie with 5.1 or more, or gaming
emmpeethree
well, i've just double checked the cabling (not too hard since fronts and rears use different coloured cables) and the input on the soundcard anda everything is correct. it seems that even when the surround volume is at minimum, the rears sound just as loud as the fronts. any amount i turn it up increases rear volume. its annoying beucase i like the output of the sub at 4.1, but i'd like to hear music at 2.1, so it seems like the only thing i can do is unplug the sattelites when im not using them? Moderators Amy Posted April 19, 2004 Moderators Share Posted April 19, 2004 Try turning up the main volume knob, turning down the surround knob, and adjusting with your soundcard volume.
jackson_ngo
check the front and rear fading level of your soundcard
currently
I always got weak front speaker sound when I had an external device (sound input line) plugged into the front control speaker. Yank any extra inputs if you're using them and try it without them. The option to use external inputs is nice extra feature, but just having something plugged in (and not in use) should not have such a negative impact on using the full sound of all 4.1 speakers. This feature should not necessitate removing external inputs when not in use.
Jay481985
its a problem inherit with the turtle beach santa cruz card, the rears are louder then the front.
justin_tx_16
the rears ARE louder when playing surround sound. They are supposed to be futher away than the fronts so they need to be louder. Use the surround knob or your soundcard settings to lower their volume if need be.
MD1032
I used to own a Santa Cruz. Direct a question to me (with description of config) if you still have one.
