ez8947
I listen to music I like, plain and simple. It's an added bonus when those particular sources are of greater quality than the usual(do to recording, mixing, ect.). I know I would benefit from and like to try out, and I think other members also, peoples top choices in DVDs and CDs for sound quality. I know equiptment, room characteristics and so on have an affect but we all have one major thing in common, HORNS. Just list the top 3 DVD titles and top 3 cd titles in your collection, or a mix of each, you would like to recommend. DVD 1.Saving Private Ryan 2.Eagles - Hell Freezes Over 3.Eric Clapton - MTV Unplugged CD 1.Bob James - Joy Ride 2.Miles Davis - Kind of Blue (reissue 1997 sony, first three tracks are in the right pitch, plus addition alternate version of Flamenco Sketches) 3.AC/DC - Back in Black

RFinco
---------------- Kodo, Mondo Head Leonard Cohen, I'm Your Man...THAT VOICE!!! Leaetherstrip. Penetrate the Satanic Citizen. Good for scaring customers! Kevin The Sound Broker ---------------- LOL! Leatherstrip in a audio store...hehe...PS--leatherstrips best album---Solitary Confinement, and if you want to hear some REALLY scary stuff--check out his side project--KLUTE. "dessert Storm remix" is a good one... Leonard Cohen..."tower of song" and "everybody knows" are favs. of mine... I've seen Kodo live twice now......all I can say is WOW! if you like them, check out SAVAGE AURAL HOTBED--a percussion team out of Minneapolis, MN. they don't just play drums though, they play...saws, 50 gal oil drums, large coil springs, those orange barrels on the sides of roads, and a few weird horn-funnel things that they built... Also: Check out 16 HORSEPOWER--"Low Estate" or "Sacloth and Ashes". nothing like you've ever heard, and if you like em' you'll never outgrow them. Also, they perform THE BEST live show I've ever seen, and I've seen them now about 6 times...each time...incredible.

Darren
DVD's: We were Soldiers Braveheart Lord of the Rings (both, and I'll bet money on the 3rd as well). Music: Toy Matinee Yes - Fragile (ok it's old, but man it's good) Mark Knofler - Sailing to Philadelphia (HDCD with great guest - Van Morrison, James Tayler...). It has a really cool "rough cut" version of "Roundabout." Highly recommended if you enjoy the original CD.
Darren
A "new" Fragile CD, I love it - and I'll get it. Man, being a Yes fan is expensive - I just keep buying the same music over and over again...
arthurs
Darren - make sure you buy the Rhino Records remasters, they are all amazing. I'm like you, keep buying different versions of the same discs....but the Rhino masters will really shock you by how terrific they sound.... Darren
Very cool, thanks. Any good web sites for ordering Rhino re-masters? I'll do some surfing, but if you have a favorite site I'd appreciate narrowing it down some. Thanks!
arthurs
amazon has them. look for latest issue remasters, most have extra tracks. Rhino is then listed under label.
