WhoozYoDaddy
In my very small room (11' X 12') with a Jolida 302A tube amp..Will the Chorus's sound that much better than the Fortes??? If so I may get a pair of Chours's.

radiob
There is a nice set of chorus2s in black on audiogon now and 500.00 I think.
WhoozYoDaddy
Theyre condition sucks, if I were to buy chorus's i'd want them perfect. Radiob I have a very small room. Im not sure the chours's would make the difference that you seem to hear in my room.
gullahisland
In that size room, you might find that even the Fortes "load" the room with too much bass. You'll probably have some issues with standing waves and "one note" bass. Also, if you're gonna' use tubes with Fortes (or Chorus'), then I'd make sure you've got at least 40-50 watts. In my experience, low-powered tube amps can't control the dynamic woofer of the Fortes and the soundstage just falls apart when pushed even moderately. If I were in your situation (and if you REALLY wanna' go with low-powered tubes), then I'd just pickup a pair of Heresys and add a sub if you really miss the bottom end. And herein lies the answer to your previous question about why Heresys sell for more than Fortes. They're more "Heritage-sounding" than the Fortes and are more compatible with tubes. That's my assessment anyway. Others may disagree. Hope this helps. Welcome to the forum. Final note... Be patient. There are some super knowledgable folks on this board, but newbies come and go quite frequently. You'll want to prove yourself as a "contributing" member of the forum and not just a "taker". Stick around for awhile and you're sure to make some great "virtual" friends. -Dan

WhoozYoDaddy
I just gotta know this. Does the Forte II tear the **** out of the refrence line in about every respect? And what about the CF line. How does the CF-3 compare?
Cal Blacksmith
What sound do you like better? IMO, what you like, size of room and music taste will dictate what speakers you like. Any Klipsch speaker is head and shoulders above the great unwashed masses. Which one is a matter of personal taste. I have 55 wpc of class A/B power from a modern tube amp design. It sounds good to me. It has enough power to control the forte speakers just fine.
