Klipschfoot
I just got this email addressed to my eBay-only email address. It is a hoax. So if you get one of these, do not reply. I realize that probably all of us would never be duped by such a thing, but I thought I would post it. Consider it a PSA.
MrMcGoo
I received one similar to the above example. It is an attempt at identity theft. Law enforcement is not as fast or agile as the bad guys. The Internet seems to be better suited to thieves and hackers than it is for legitimate business. Bill
jephdood
Sad. I really hope no one falls for it, but you know there will be victims. And it's especially sad when these requests contain obvious grammatical clues to their validity or lack thereof.
jdm56
I got a nearly identical one a couple of days ago, except it was ~from~ Citibank.
neo33
I got tons of those. Except I don't bank with US Bank!
Malcolm
They might be more of a threat if their English was better.
Jay481985
lmao they scanned in the typed wording cause look closely at the letter and the white around the letter is a little off of the white around the message
Klipschfoot
I posted a jpg that I made from the original. I simply hit "print screen," opened MS Paint, pasted, cropped out the portion I wanted to use, hit "copy," opened a new file, clicked "paste," and saved it as a jpg. That is why you see choppy type. I did not want anyone inadvertently clicking on any links.
Jay481985
oh no i have gotten email spams like that before where the actual link is real but the person did not type the message but rather scan the words in. if you put ur screen to brightest and such u will see a halo around the lettering as it was scanned in. PAR69
I got one of these too, but the spam program (MailFrontier) at work nailed it as fraudulent...too cool. Thanks for posting the warning, I think we all need to be more aware of identity theft and attemps to get our personal information
