BLOOMIS914
What would a fair price be for a pair of Chorus II's in excellent condition? I have the opportunity to pick up a pair from a friend and he say's they retailed/MSRP'd around $1,800. These speakers look and sound great and the owner will not part with them for less than $1,000. Is $1,000 too much for these? They are about 6 years old....approximate vintage is 1995...production went from 1990 to 1996 I know. Advice quick please before he unloads somewhere else. Mikekid
My Chorus's are from 1995 as well, They are in perfect..as NEW condition in oiled oak with original boxes and paperwork. I paid 1,200 for them which is on the high side, but I wanted a perfect pair of these. They retailed new for around $1600.00 to $1800.00. I have seen these speakers in less than perfect shape sell on ebay for between $700.00 and $1,000.00 I have no regrets and have owned these for almost 3 years now. Among the BEST speakers Klipsch put together! How much do YOU like them????????????? Take care Mike This message has been edited by Mikekid on 07-24-2001 at 01:06 AM
HornEd
I'll echo your "Chorus" MikeKid... after all they are his ears! Bear in mind, BLOOMIS, that you can see, hear (potentially audition them in your own sound environment) and save hassle and shipping on your friends Chorus II's... and that is worth something. Shop around, add up all the costs, it will ease your mind... then ENJOY! HornEd
dougdrake2
Hey Bloom - I've seen Chorus's going from $700 to $1000, like Mike. The rule of thumb is about 50% of the MSRP, with adjustments for condition. With MSRP of $1800, your friend's not far off, especially if they are in great shape. Cruzer
I second the motion on the Chorus IIs, I have mine since 1992 and they STILL the main speakers in my system. I LOVE THEM. ------------------ Cruzer
