Mike Lindsey
I have just moved into my new house and decided to take a few pictures of my present system. It consists of the following: Denon 4800 AVR Teac CD player (waiting for Panasonic RP91 in black) Dual CS-721 Turntable DBX 3bx series III Range Expander Scientific Atlanta Explorer 2000 cable box Monster HTS-3500 Line Conditioner Klipsch Epic CF-2 mains Klipsch KLF-C7 center Klipsch RS-3 surrounds SVS 20-39CS w/Samson S700 amp Mitsubishi 31" TV (soon to be replaced) I am hoping to purchase a set of Cornwalls, or another set of CF-2's or CF-4's (in medium oak) and move the existing CF-2's to the rears for 7.1. I would also have to purchase a 2-channel amp and have been looking at the older Denon's (POA-2400, POA-2800) from the mid 90's...these are 200 w/ch amps. I currently have the RS-3's at about 8 feet and would like to bring them down to about 6 feet in the near future. Let me know what you guys think and if there might be something I can do to improve my situation. I'm always looking for some ideas... DLUngurait
Mike, Nice lookin' set-up...and a great lookin' NEW HOUSE! I assume from your comment about needing a two channel amp that you were unable to get your Yamaha M-4 fixed?...too bad. Good Luck Dave
Mike Lindsey
Dave, Still plan on fixing the Yamaha but plan on setting that up in my bedroom. I will probably put some Heresy's on the wall in the bedroom, once I get the amp fixed. I'll have my Yamaha separates plus the TEAC CD player in there... Mike Lindsey
Steve, I've been looking on Ebay for the 2400 and the 2800. Not quite sure what the difference is...maybe year built? They seem to have the same specs... As for the Heresy's, I think I am gonna wait until I finish my HT room (CF-4's, 2-channel amp, 1 more SVS 20-39CS sub) before I start on my bedroom. Do you have some available? What year, shape and finish if you don't mind my asking... Mike

Jim Cornell
Mike If you can fit cornwalls in that room, they will sound great, open feild, cornered, or toed in!! Ive pulled a set of mine out, and they still sounded great right here in the center of my living room!!! No walls!! It looks like you have a walkway, beside your setup! So maybe you could place them behind you somehow!! Or even at the farthest point in the room, diaganal!! I had one in my kitchen, and one in the living room, they were 20 feet apart, and sounded as good as 2 pair in 1 room!!! Cornwalls are for a 480 squre foot room, thats a lot!! My cornwalls even sounded great stacked, i got worried about the weight, and put them back to side by side!! So, all in all,if you can get them in your setup, i think they will sound great! You might not hear some of your other sets, thats what happened to me, all my KG series took a hike!! If you get a set of cornwalls, post them, ill be looking!! Theres a set like Toms in Mass, and a set in oak on e-bay, the auction is almost over!! Good luck Mike Regards Jim
Jim Cornell
PS Steves heresys are nice!! Jim Also, Mike get online and look up pyramid amp on e-bay!! I bought the PA1000 brand new with warranty, $257.00 It has big power meters like mcintosh, and drops down to 10db!!!! Its been working flawless with 2 pair of cornwalls, low volume, or cranked a bit!!! It also has A/B speaker switch!!! Regards Jim
Jim Cornell
Guys, do me a favor?? What the hell is SVS sub LOL!!! Sounds expensive, how much, and who makes it, ive seen it a lot!! I think im going to H/T what i have here!! Anyone have any ideas, to cornwall front cornwall rear!! What kind of center made can keep up with that Heresy? Mike Lindsey
Jim, If you talk to Ron (S)impson and Tom (V)odhanel (the SV in SV subwoofers), they will tell you anything you need to know about these subs. They can be reached from their website and they always answer their Email...generally within a couple of hours from receiving it. I love my 20-39CS with the Samson S700 amp (375 w/ch x 2). If I had the room (and the money) for the 2nd sub, I would have gotten it at the same time. It really makes my CF-2's complete. Even though your Cornwalls carry a lot more bass, they will still make a difference in your HT and 2 channel stereo environment. I just watched MI-2 the other night and it absolutely rocked! Fleetwood Mac's "The Dance" in DD 5.1, and the Eagles' "Hell Freezes Over" and Steely Dan's "Two Against Nature" in DTS sound unbelievable on the SVS subs. Try and find someone in your area that has one and go give a listen. You will be impressed... Mike
