drewzter
Does anyone out here have the specs on what this guy says are "Klipsch 12-inch Car Subs" Model K-1074-K? I was not aware that Klipsch made any car speakers, but have been thinking that it would be cool if they did because they'd sound great... did they once make these speakers, and has anyone heard them? ------------------ Front: dbx Soundfield V - 15" woofer, 8" mid, ribbon tweet, 3.25" mid & dome tweet on top Center: KLF C7 Rear Surround: Polk f/x bipole/dipole Amp: Yamaha RX-V990 100x3; 25x2 DVD: Yamaha DVD S795 (built-in DD Processor) CD: Yamaha CDC 575 5-Disc VCR: Toshiba M752 6-head TV: Mitsubishi 40" Tube DirecTV Sony Playstation w/ s-vid & RCA to V990 for awesome gaming picture & sound! Tony Reed
He might be using them for subs but, to my knowledge, Klipsch has never manufactured any car audio products. dougdrake2
Klipsch did own Pyle for a while, but no longer has any interest in that company, as far as I know (which isn't very far ). Sounds like this guy built a sub using a couple of regular 12" Klipsch woofers. If we had the parts list on the web site again, we could cross reference to see what speakers Klipsch used that woofer in. DD
myram
They look like the woofers from the LF10 or the LF12 subwoofers for home audio. ------------------ Home Theater System: Klipsch Quartets - mains for both systems Klipsch KV3 - center Klipsch KG.5's - rear surrounds Klipsch KSW12 subwoofer Denon AVR-1601 JVC 36D201 36" TV JVC HR-S3600 SVHS Player JVC XV-M565BK DVD Player Scientific Atlanta Explorer 2100 Digital Cable box Music System: Adcom GFA-555 Musical Concepts Modified NAD 1600 Pre/Tuner Sony C-67ES CD Player Playstation 2 Monster Power HTS-2000 MIT Speaker Cable RS Gold Interconnects Monster S-Video and Component Cables
drewzter
so they'd pretty much kick booty in a car box, wouldn't ya think?
Frzninvt
Klipsch does not make car audio products, although they are associated with or the owner's of Pyle Corp. The woofers for auction look like drivers taken from an LF-10 Subwoofer, you can use them if you can obtain the Theile Small (T/S) parameters from Klipsch so you can build the proper enclosure for them. In the wrong size and type of enclosure they will not sound good. They are also more than likely an 8 ohm driver but paralleling them both should give you a 4 ohm load so you can drive them with a bridged amplifier. Anyway in the proper enclosure they should work fine. ------------------ Sony KP-43T70 43" Television Denon AVR 3300 A/V Receiver (Pre-outs only) DBX BX-3MkII Power Amplifier (LF/ALF/RF/ARF) (Belle's - Oak Clear/Cane) & LWE-I's w/Motion Feedback (Walnut) DBX BX-3MkII Power Amplifier (RR/ARR/LR/ALR) (Heresy II's (Walnut/Cane) & ESS Mini Monitors (Walnut) DBX MPA-150 Mono Split Spectrum Amplifier © (KV-4 - Black) Klipsch KSW-15 Powered Subwoofer (2) Nakamichi DVD-10 DVD/LCD/CD Player Nakamichi MB-10 Music Bank CD Changer Technics SL-DL5 DD Linear Tracking Turntable JVC HR-S7500U SVHS Video Cassette Recorder RCA DRD-303RA Satellite Receiver VC3 Deluxe Video Clarifier DBX 400XG Program Route Selector DBX 120X-DS Subharmonic Synthesizer/Electronic Crossover DBX 3BX-DS 3-Band Dynamic Range Controller (2) (1-LC) (1-RC) DBX 14/10 14-Band Computerized Equalizer/RTA Analyzer/SPL Meter Panamax 1000+ Surge Protector/Line Conditioner Sega Dreamcast w/3 Controllers & VMU's/S-Video Output Bedroom Yamaha RX-900U Receiver Panasonic DVD-A120U DVD/CD Player Sony SLV-740HF Hi-Fi VCR BBE - ARS Audio Recovery System DBX 2015G 15 Band/Channel Equalizer A/D/S L300E Mini Speakers GE 20" Television
dougdrake2
You guys are sharp - they are the woofers from the LF12 subwoofer: K-1074-K 12" (30.48cm) Kevlar / Fiber-composite cone / cast aluminum frame DD
myram
Thank you very much......LOL I saw those on ebay over the weekend and knew that they weren't car audio subs at all, but those from an LF-12 sub. If that LF-12 sub was all together, the guy would get alot more then $150. ------------------ Home Theater System: Klipsch Quartets - mains for both systems Klipsch KV3 - center Klipsch KG.5's - rear surrounds Klipsch KSW12 subwoofer Denon AVR-1601 JVC 36D201 36" TV JVC HR-S3600 SVHS Player JVC XV-M565BK DVD Player Scientific Atlanta Explorer 2100 Digital Cable box Music System: Adcom GFA-555 Musical Concepts Modified NAD 1600 Pre/Tuner Sony C-67ES CD Player Playstation 2 Monster Power HTS-2000 MIT Speaker Cable RS Gold Interconnects Monster S-Video and Component Cables
