Silver00Spike
Those of you who are nto complaining about the midrange in the promedias(i am one) are very lucky, we are like the people who dont know whats the point of buying a $500 geforce2 ultra for the fps, because the dont get pissed when they see bad fps in their games, cause they dont know better. So all of u like me who arent complaining about midrange be happy, we arent the pissed ones cause we dont know any better!!!!!!

Seb
ummm... not quite the same thing though. as i understand it, the usefulness of being obsessed with fps is that you'll be able to use your card much longer when games start being very 3d intensive. although this logic is defeated because all the people who are obsessed with fps change vidcards every year anyway. Paragon
I stick with nVidia - best driver support I had a Riva 128 <4MB> but recently upgraded to a Annihilator2 and I love it. Im sure I will be able to play games just as good as the GF2Ultra for less than half the money <$180>, a GF2 GTS 32MB, some cooling, and some tweakin. Sam_D
I still have the Voodoo 3 that came with my lemon compaq. I have the Pros, what else matters? Besides, I don't know of a game (currently) that I can't run!
Silver00Spike
but i bet u know a few games which u wish ran as fast as mine, cause i have i geforce2 , na na na na na, sharp as a bowling ball...
quackman
I have a geforce 2 ultra the Creative Annihilator 2 ultra it's mad fast I can play any game at 1600x1200 will all the details turned on all the way and still get a good framerate. and now it's time to stop bragging about my geforce 2 ultra....... Paragon
All I will say is that I am glad I don't have a GeForce2Ultra - I'm richer without it
Gondor
I'm with you paragon, I got my Hercules Prophet II (GF2 64meg GTS) when it came out and I dont expect to upgrade any time soon. I didnt have to pay for my GF2 because it was a birthday present, but I will probably have to pay for my next upgrade. So I am cautious. And besides, other than memory upgraded and a slightly faster chip, the GF2 Ultra is BASICALLY the same thing, just a little faster. (dont nitpick with me, I know the differences) So, IMHO I'm stickin here and savin some cash, and still gettin sweet Framerates in all the games I play. (course some of that has to do with my 1.2 GHz TBIRD, though I realize the vid card is probably the bottleneck)
Seb
the vidcard is most likely the bottleneck, it always is with fast systems and 3d games.
Paragon
oo.. I only have 32MB.. oh well.. it works wonders as is. I agree Seb, mostly the memory bandwidth bottleneck I'll OC my RAM in a bit and will enjoy it.
Silver00Spike
why the hell did everyone switch this to a video card topic, damn it ppl, you are supposed to be saying how lucky u are that u dont notice the promedia's "bad" midrange, not how lucky you are to have the same video card as i do!!!!!!!!!!!!!
