robertl
Hello, I stopped in a local guitar store, wher they sell Marshall tube amps and repair them. They had the new Russian made Mullard EL-34's,so i bought a matched quad for $80 bucks, manufacture date printed on tubes is 04 09. The boxes are blue and have Master Valve printed on them,it's safe to use them in my Cayin TA-30 integreated amp isn't it?,to repelace my Cayin EL-34's,which I believe are Valve Art EL-34's. This is my first attempt at tube rolling. The guitar store owner also had old stock Siemens,NOS matched quad for $150. Deang
This EL-34 isn't a NOS British "Mullard" -- it's a Russian copy. Still, probably sounds pretty good. At any rate, sure -- they'll work in the Cayin.
robster
Thanks DEan, The Russian made Mullards have better bottom end than the Cayin Valve Arts EL-34. The guitar store owner also had a matched quad of NOS East German Siemens for $150,but I can't afford them. Cheers and Merry Christmas, Robert
Deang
Those East German Siemans are terrible anyways. Stay away. I tried a quad of those in my Superamp back when Ned at Triode Electronics had them, and they last in my amp about a week. Those things were screaming bright. robster
Thanks Dean, can't afford the Siemens anyway,I'll just get another set of $80 Russian Mullards for my Fisher 400 receiver. (It's modified to use El-34 output tubes) currently using Electro Harmonix in it. Cheers, Robert
