KungFuNat
ive got a pair of '79 heresys, and they have the old screw-type binding posts... is there enough room to sqeeze spades in there? right now im using bare wire, but i want to add spades to clean things up a bit. ben.
If they're the 1/4" variety, PartsExpress carries them. Great for vintage amps, too.
arfandbark
I like the bare wire to binding post approach... Less interference. WOOF!
Cal Blacksmith
I also just use bare wire into the post. Just twist the wires real tight and keep them trimed to about 1/16" longer than the width of the spade lug, tighten and enjoy. There are less parts involved and to my eye it looks clean and neat. ben.
That can be a bit cumbersome when using 12-14ga wire, though.
Cal Blacksmith
I am using 10 ga O2 free cable for my speakers and it works just fine. Get a good tight twist on the cable, trim to length and insert in the binding post. At least for me it works fine.
ben.
Gotcha. I was thinking of screw-down terminals. I swear I can read, really...
