tyonkauske
Could anyone with some help me out with choosing a Home Theater system? I have heard the Quintet with the 12inch sub at Tweeter accompanied with the Yamaha RVX 660 and it sounded incredible! I heard the Bose Lifestyle at Bose and that sounded incredible! I havent heard the Paradigm system yet, However a friend of mine is part owner of the HiFi sales house in NJ and recommends this system, for the price range I am looking in. (1)-The part that is confussing, picking the best system. I have recieved great pricing on-line compared purchasing any of these systems from the store. So its not the money now, just picking the best one out of these three. (2)-If I decide to go with the klipsh system, is this yamaha reciever RVX660 the proper unit or should I spend a little more with yamaha or with another manufacture? I would appreciate any help reguarding this decision. Thanks, Tommy
drewzter
Most of this decision is going to be left to you and your own ears/wallet... what are you going to be playing on this system? movies only or music and movies...radio...?? but many of us on here have real-world experience with which we can advise: The Quintet micro-theater system is fine for SMALL rooms (12 x 12 and less) and for MOVIES ONLY... musically, they are very lacking. They just don't have the 'balls,' for lack of a better term, to play music with feeling like large speakers do... Personally, I'd stay away from any of the 3 systems you mentioned. There's just way better systems that you can piece together that will satisfy your longings than having to buy something tiny like those ones and be disappointed after a while... they're just... tiny... ------------------ Front: dbx Soundfield V - 15" woofer, 8" mid, ribbon tweet, 3.25" mid & dome tweet on top Center: KLF C7 Rear Surround: Polk f/x bipole/dipole Amp: Yamaha RX-V990 100x3; 25x2 DVD: Yamaha DVD S795 (built-in DD Processor) CD: Yamaha CDC 575 5-Disc VCR: Toshiba M752 6-head TV: Mitsubishi 40" Tube DirecTV Sony Playstation w/ s-vid & RCA to V990 for awesome gaming picture & sound! decibel man
Do a search in this forum for "Bose Bulletin Board". You will find some intersting reading. Go Klipsch and Yammy.
