Has anyone rope calked their KLF's?

Tom,

I did my KLF20's.

Did it make a difference I can't say, because I did this when I sent my xovers to DeanG to be rebuilt.

I did the tweeter and mids, because I had to take them out any way to take the wires off the so I could send the xovers to Dean.

If nothing else it was relaxing.

When I got the xovers back I solder all the connections back to the components.

When you take the components out, you will see that Klipsch uses paper gaskets. When I bought the rope chaulk I also bought some foam material. I replaced the paper gaskets with the foam. I even put the foam abound the panel for the binding posts and xover.

I soldered all the connections, put everything back together and fired up my system.

The KLF's never sounded so good. Sounded so good that a friend came over and bought my HT on the spot. KLF20 and 3 KLFC7's.

Sorry I can't give you a good answer, but I was so in to rope chaulking that I did it to my Heresy's. To be honest I couldn't tell much of a difference, but it didn't hurt.

I am going to Rope chaulk my Cornwalls.

If you are going to do it I would get a cheap "lazy susan". Set the tweeter on it and it will be easy to spin.

Sorry this is so long and didn't really answer your question, but the 5 shots of expresso is starting to kick in.

Danny
