Joe Shmoe
So if you do not have a SACD player, are you still able to listen to the disc ....without the obvious beneifts of course?
AndyKubicki
So, there really is a Joe Schmoe! Joe, there are some dual layered disks, SACD and Redbook (regular music CD). Without an SACD player, you are listening to the regular CD version. But keep in mind, it must be marked as a Hybrid CD...many are not hybrid and will not play in a CD player... Joe Shmoe
Thanks Andy... I wasn't sure. A friend saw a disc on eBay he wants but it's SACD & he asked me about it. I had no clue, as I do not own any SACD's. I do own DVD-A's and they seem to work.
SilverSport
This is interesting to me...I just bought a used Yamaha DVD S700 to play CDs on...I put in my John Mayer CD (SACD but is supposed to play in regular CD players) and it won't read it...this plays fine in the car or through the Toshiba DVD and Sony DVD players I have access to...hmmmm.
