I was thinking svs or rsw 15 need some help here looking for something more on the musical end but with some deep slam for movies??? The tiny True Sub Jr. won't do the job, but the EQ probably would and the Singature would almost definitely work well. Might be hard to locate a new Sig from an authorized dealer for $1500, though... but it probably can be done. Might also look at Velodyne, but it would probably be even harder to find a decent matching Velo for that price. RSW-15 would probably work... One of the new THX subs would do the job, most likely. Two would exceed the budget... Some of the offerings from SVS would match up. Probably should go with a plus series, at least... leaning towards the double driver box sub. Maybe even the Ultra. The two best subs I used were the Paradigm Servo-15 and the Velodyne HGS-15.For the money,go with the Paradigm(you should be able to pick one up new for just a bit more). Hope this helps! Given the fact that you are looking for a musical sub,the Velodyne or Paradigm is clearly the better chioce in my mind.The servo units are very smooth and precise with ultra low distortion.They will pack a great pop in the 70-80hz range, and even though the 30's have two 12inch woofers the upper end of the servo's will fill out your music.
