I bought my 4800 as a floor model and it didn't come with a box. So if anyone has a box for this receiver and wants to sell it, I will pay a minimal amount for this plus shipping. In the same day I went up to the 4800 and added in the Academy so my system really improved in a couple of hours. I have the POA5200 on it's way now....and am still looking for some KG1's or even another pair of KG.5's. I liked the 4800 so much, that I sold my Adcom GFA-555 and my NAD 1600 that I was using for music. The 4800 has enough power to do what I want it to do, and with the POA5200 on it's way it will make it even better. So how about a box........? t-man Posted August 23, 2001 Share Posted August 23, 2001 Myram, I really need to know this..... Please tell me how much difference you noticed stepping up from the 1601. As an owner of this reciever, I want to know what I'm missing out on. Did you get better bass response, better "in your face" sound? Did the stereo music really improve? I find my Denon lacking in the area of CD music. Not sure what it is, but something is missing. Could it be simply the power? Please tell!!!!
