jbsl
Well picked up the single 1975 La Scala for my center channel and it's going to need a tune up! I do not know anything about crossovers but this one looks like it needs to be replaced. Trying to post pics, this one should be the mid horn magnet
jbsl
If the speaker wire is hooked up to the input section on the crossover then it already has something hooked up to it. Xman

jbsl
Where do I attach the speaker wire to? Dean I may need to get a quote from you for a crossoer. The previous owner said a church had used this one and I forgot to ask about the rest.
jbsl
I think I am going to raise my tv stand enough to put the speaker under neath and then make a speaker grille 48 inches wide and 38 inches high that will cover the speaker and everything below the tv. This way I do not have to spend a lot of time trying to refinish it.
Thumpelstiltskin
What's at the other end of the wire connected to your xover input?

Frzninvt
Someone has already modded that network it certainly is not original. Best to start fresh I would think. What is up with the additional autoformer or coil.
jbsl
The guy said it was being used at a church so not sure what they did to the crossover. Maybe they did the mod so the preacher could spread the word with the heavenly sound of Klipsch. I think maybe getting a ALK crossover or one of Dean's crossovers would be the safest thing to do! 3dzapper
JBSL, First take that large 70V transformer out of there. It is for PA use not your amplfier it was installed by the soundman at the church. then hook your amp up to the two lugs at the for right on your AA x-overs. A good BEC rebuild with pio motor caps, DeanG rebuild with F%F caps or an ALK will improve the sound.
BEC
X-MAN Tried to send you PM about a rebuild on your AAs, but that function of the forum doesn't seem to work for me today. Bob Crites bobcrites@centurytel.net
jbsl
Thanks 3DZapper I took the thing off and hooked it up to my center channel amp and sounds pretty good for a 30 year old speaker. BEC I'll try and shoot you a email. Xman
