i talked to the klipsch rep 'bout those new rsw when he happened to be in at the local dealer. seems they were designed by a mad man that essentially turned his basement into 1 big sub. sounds like they're worth waiting for to check out. cwm35.gif

BTW, which color do you guys think looks the best on the RF-7s? Black, Cherry, or Maple? How come the RS-7s only come in Black?

kain, since you're asking us take it you're not married

Biggrin.gif that cherry finish i saw on the rf-7 at the dealer sure looked sharp. more like a blonde cherry though as i got my cornwalls refinished in cherry but it's much darker & redder.

of course just like everything else depends on your tastes & decor. i've gone w/ black because it does & will match about everything. especially black Smile.gif

if they're making the rs only in black it must be for cost reasons.

I'll put my two cents in for maple. I've always been a fan of that lighter colored wood. The cherry also looks very nice though. I haven't had the chance to see the RF7's in black. How are they, anyone who has seen them? Where did you wind up getting the Rx-7 set-up at and how much did it cost you? Did you take my recommendation or did you go through a different source? I think it is safe to say that you will have the most incredible system any 16 year old on the planet has had. That is a set-up that many people on this board would not be too upset about if it just showed up on their door.

Now KaiN64, if your dad really wants to, I might be convinced to let him finance an SVS Ultra for my sub.........

Sweet system KAiN. I spent 2 hours listening to a pair of RF-7's last Saturday. They were being driven by a Denon 5800 in stereo only. I listened to several CD's from Steely Dan to Liquid Soul to Diana Krall to The Screamin' Cheeta Willies to Grover Washington. Man-oh-man....I could see me living with those speakers. Only one problem - my 1971 Cornwalls sound just as good. Wink.gif

Seriously though, I really did like the sound of those guys. I think you made a wise choice. To my ears, if money were an issue, I'd get RF-3's. If money wasn't an issue it would be the RF-7 over the RF-5. It should be interesting to see how the RF-5 sell.

BTW, did you ever try to pick up a RC-&7? Man, that thing is like ridiculously heavy. Hey Klipsch - what did you put in that thing, depleted uranium?? Tipsy.gif Anyhow, hope you have a hand truck KAiN to move those things around.
