dalcorn
I am looking at building a 2 ch system using either a pair of used RF-3s or possibly either RF-25s or RF-35s. I listen to mostly college music (student)... Indie rock, hip hop, rock, pop, etc. I plan to get a sub, too, so it would need a sub preamp output. I currently have an HK AVR 125 (55w x 2 or 45w x 5) with a pair of HK B 6 bookshelf speakers. At first I thought about using this receiver with the RF-3s to setup a home theater system for movies/video games. However, I began to think twice and was considering my options for a 2 ch setup. I am trying to choose an amp, not too knowledgeable but I think I want to go the solid-state route for financial reasons. I'm thinking a budget of 300-500$, but I'll spend less if the benefits aren't THAT great for spending 500$ over a 200$ amp.
jeffgeorge
Look at these integrated amps: Marantz PM7200 ($550 retail), Rotel RA series, or Cambridge Audio Azur series. All these amps are quite nice for the money.
