Rick
Saw this in the new products section of the new issue of Sound and Vision magazine.
toddvj
Not sure I get it. Why couldn't you just hook your laptop directly to your system? Why do you need the extra box?
hooting_monkey
Because I'm sure this has much better DACs than onboard sound of a laptop. It will increase the sound quality of your laptop. Thats the whole purpose of a sound card vs. onboard.
neo33
"Thats the whole purpose of a sound card vs. onboard." There are tons of cheap soundcards out there with DACs just as bad as onboard sound. So what's your point?

I find all of this a bit ludicrous if running running Windows anyway. There, I can be 'oh so jaded' too. 'There's no future' he said with an attitude... Jay481985
Hmm I guess I am happy that my laptop has sp/dif outout then? Atleast I can hook it up the my Klipsch DD5.1 Box
Champagne taste beer budget
OK, this may apply to my other post re XP Pro Soundcards. Near as I can tell, my computer guy does just business stuff that doesn't need sound, hence his "doe in the headlights" look I got on the phone when I asked him about cards for XP Pro. Hopefully someone will hit that thread and steer me/him straight. Thanks
