BS Button
Yeah, I know and they've got the Cadillac K51V's, likely the most expensive mid driver Klipsch ever used. I beleive that Crites called them elegant looking, if you could say that about a stinkin midrange driver!I don't think there was any improvement in sound, however. So, now we have (mid to low 80's vintage) K55M's, K52K's bolt on, K52H's screw on, K51V's screw on, K57's and on and on and on.... BS Button
Yes, mine are "Y's" 1983. Another enigma from this weekend was a pair of Corn 1's with polymer horns? Part of "Woodog's" 4 in his church.

BEC
Michael, Do a forum search for K-51V Bob
colterphoto1
Thanks Bob, so is this highly prized or not? The post leads me to believe that it was a 'cheaper' manufacturing solution, but has a smoother top end. If it was better and cheaper, why wasn't it kept? BEC
Michael, I don't think there are enough of them around to become "prized". I personally think they were expensive and that Klipsch was looking for something cheaper and found the K-52H. It is a good driver as far as I can tell. About like the K-55M in frequency response.
