kingdave
Just kind of a curious thought I had... wondering where everyone prefers buying speakers for price or just good service or whatever dave
tofu
the only speakers i've bought from a store were rf3's a few years ago. i purchased them at j&r music world for $500 and paid in cash so they waived tax for me. they also threw in some free speaker wire. the rest of my speaker/equipment purchases have been from online (used). garymd
I bought my cornwalls from Myer-Emco in 1980 but don't remember much about the service. They are now a Tweeters and I purchased my surrounds and sub from them when they were getting out of the Klipsch business. I got some great deals and the salesman is now a friend. They seem pretty knowledgable except for the Monster stuff they try to sell you at unreasonable prices. If you say no however, they do respect your wishes and don't push it. fastlane
Pawn shops are great. I bought my Forte II's for $295, Velodyne sub $180, KG-2 surrounds $75, all from various pawn shops. I got my Academy off ebay for $325. It is a crap shoot as far as what they have for sale. It takes persistence and luck, but there are good deals to be had.
