Guy Landau
I bought these a couple of months ago in order to rebuild them but have too many other projects. They are already at Craig's (so you can save on shipping) and he can do his magic and rebuild them for $450 + cost of tubes (with new front end triode board and beefed up power supply). They are equipped with an unusual front end board (5687 + 6BX7 tubes), Michell binding posts and metal spikes/cones. $650 takes them. Guy Landau
More info, These have an updated triode board installed. The boards were designed and installed by canadian tube guru, Pat Morford in late 80's. The amps had seen better days and probably had been temperred during the years. Unfortunately, Pat is nowhere to be found ( he used to have a very nice website with lots of tube amps schematics and info) and figuring the schematic and layout of the board will be too time consuming for Craig. The easy way is to let Craig install his triode boards and do his thing on it. The end result will give you an 85-90% of the performance of his VRD's at less than 50% of the VRD's cost . If you're technically inclined and may wish to experiment and try to draw and figure out the schematic and operating points by yourself, it probably can be done too ( a power supply rebuild is a must, though).
