ajcllc
Any suggested set-ups in 6 or 7 channel surround with 2 or 3 Academy's?
fastlane
Any combination of Chorus II, Forte II, Quartets. Use the largest you have as mains.
rplace
If you are fixed at 3 Academies and assuming you have the room for a large center channel I would think about Three Forte IIs across the front and three Academies across the back for a nice 6.1 set up. For a while I personally had Chorus/Forte II/Chorus up front and Acedemy/Forte II/Academy in the rear and really liked it. Good Luck. Petrol
^^^ that would certainly work!
Olorin
Yeah, like Rich said, a lot depends on room size. Three identical speakers across the front has to be hard to beat. I really like the way the Chorus II and the Academy go together, though. If you already have the three Academys, you can't really go wrong by getting any of the Chorus II/Forte II/Quartet towers and getting a 5.1 started with the other two Academys in the rear. Add more speakers from the series as time, funds, and space allow.
Mike Frankel
My set up is: Front Right and Left-Forte II Front Center- Academy Rear Left and Right- Forte II Back Surrounds- Academys I am most pleased with this setup and certainly recomend any combination of Forte II's and Academys. popbumper
Nobody has mentioned Forte I, which is ALSO an excellent match to Academy. I have an Academy center, with four Fortes, all with upgraded crossovers, and it's wonderful! Chris
BS Button
I predict a pair of forte's on ebay soon, with the advent of those Cornwalls!!!!
HornEd
As someone who owns one, Klipsch Academy is a great speaker for its size... particularly when matched with Heritage speakers. However, if its Home Theater and you have full size Heritage speakers in the front left and front right position, and an Academy in the front center... you are pushing upwards of 75% of all the sound on your DVD through the Academy in the center... and your cherished Heritage jewels do not truly show their luster. In the above Forte II, Academy, Forte II (front and rear) example far better sound could be heard by putting three Forte II's across the front center, putting the remaining Forte II in the rear center and the Academy's in the left and right rear surround slots. Try it; you will be absolutely amazed by the difference! -HornEd PS: Yeah, I know, the TV is in the way... well, friends, maybe it's time to get one of those slick InFocus X3 DLP projectors for a little over a grand and free up some space. Add a hot High Definition TV tuner and a Pioneer Elite Pro and you will find the local movie house allure fades fast.
