There is a slow motion effect in which the futurist weapons can do horrible things to people and you see it frame by frame. Fairly neat looking too, the engine is close to being on par with the doom 3 engine. The AI is probably the neatest thing. Remember in Half Life 1 where the tactics employed by the marines against you was a big leap for the day? This is like that, a leap forward.
