TheSoundBroker
Just picked up a pair of oiled Walnut Belles we are putting up for sale. They are 1 owner, 1978 vintage with AA crossovers. Serial numbers are BKWO 2S595 and 2S596. Condition is overall good. Some minor mars on the cabinet. No peeling veneer. Some minor water staining on top (surface only). Looks like these could be cleaned up really nicely. Drivers are all in excellent condition, grilles are perfect. They were owned by a little old lady (really!). There are no packing boxes but I can order new cartons from Klipsch (figure about $120). They can be picked up in BELLEingham Washington (!) or we can arrange for shipping by truck freight. I'd like to see them go to a forum member so they are being posted here first. As for prices...I'm asking for fair pricing feedback on these as I haven't really tracked Belle prices lately. Can't post pictures until I get some help to get them out of the van tomorrow. Call Kevin at 360-312-4136 if you have questions.

TheSoundBroker
Tops are a bit stained, but no veneer peeling. Looks pretty much like surface stuff...

J M O N
Steve: Could be interested in splitting them with you. That is the exact finish and grill color I'm looking for. Wonder how much it would cost to ship one to S. Cal... Soundbroker: How severe are the other imperfections you mentioned? Can you take some photos of that? TheSoundBroker
I tried to take a picture of the marks and they just don't image. I tried oiling the cabinet and most disappeared. Looks like is is mostly very minor surface stuff and they just need a good rubout (tried rubbing one section where there were some marks showing and a few hours later they are gone). . There is one *very* minor edge mark on one edge but it is too small to get an image of. Steve, Seattle is about 100 miles south of me...matter of fact I picked them up in Seattle. I am in Bellingham, north of Seattle (just south of Vancouver). You could take the Trans Alaska down and pick them up! Pricing wise, I've been trying to get some forum feedback on fair pricing and haven't had any responses. There are none on E-Bay or Audiogon to compare to so I'm going to throw out a number and we'll see if it is fair...$1995 for the pair plus freight. Let me know... sunburnwilly
My '76 Belles came from Tacoma WA , $1,650.00 and in better shape than those !!! Either bring the price down , or sell em' on ebay ...
steve
Hi Kevin Seeing how I'd have to fly down/stay in hotel/rent a rig to go get them and bring them back, then pack them and ship them..plus they (more than likely) need a crossover upgrade..I'll offer you a grand for the pair..this is a lot less than the price you threw out there..and if you can do better locally, by all means do it..but that's about what it's worth to me for the hoops I have to jump thru. Let me know..I can come down this Friday if you accept the offer.. Thanx, Steve PS..I really only want one as a center..but I'll deal with that later if you want to accept my offer.. Thumpelstiltskin
Kevin, You asked for "pricing feedback".............. IMO, $1995 is too high for those speakers. Especially for your forum buddies. I'm thinking $1300 to $1500 would be a reasonable price for Belles in that condition. Good luck, Rick. Duke Spinner
better get'um on FleaBay at that price.... you can buy K-Horns in the $1500 range, why would you spend more for Belles....???
garymd
Rich and I split a pair of '78 Belles for $1400 that looked better then those. They weren't perfect though. I think for that kind of money, you need to get rid of those water stains. If they come out that easily, you should rub em out and charge $2500 for the pair! Then they'd be mint, right????
