CAS
Very curious to see specs. Love to see that they're attempting to branch out. The only prob in my book so far is they only offer the entry level. Says 2006-2007 they could have higher end pieces to match the large subs. TheEAR
Great another subwoofer maker tries to compete with the big players and make sat speakers. There is Aperion Audio and a few others who make great inexpensive sats.
formica
SVS' edge in subwoofers was in offering a niche product thatmost other manufacturers shied away from; ie: LARGE subwoofers. In the world of subwoofers, "large"means ; accompanying gains in bass-extension and efficiency. OTOH, they have no particular edge or niche in Satellite speakers... so Isee no benefit to the proposed system. I rather audition my mains... Wonder how many others will see it the same way.Rob
CAS
That is one part of it. I feel their primary niche is more related to the value per dollar and business model. No fancy shmancy 5 material cabinets, no multifaceted surfaces, no retail middlemen, etc. This venture is similar to their sub line. I think the SQ and capability related to others at the same price point could be superior, if history serves. But that's merely speculation. The company isn't just a few bassheads in the garage anymore.
yankykipscher
If the sats are as good as thier other gear it should be another slam dunk for SVS.I think they're clever to go for a bang-for-the-buck system.Pricepoint is always a consideration for me and the rest of the working slobs, I love Ferrari's but buying one is just not a reasonable goal for normal people.I hope they succeed with the new line of entry lever speakers and given thier history it's almost a sure bet they will.
