grog
I had that one laying on my desk. It actually is on the Roxy Music EP DVD of all places. The DVD Jukebox section #5. Procol Harum - A Whiter Shade of Pale. But hey.. This song had a lot of air play when I was in my youth. Great song. I took a snapshot from my DVD... Here is one: Baby you can drive my car. Yes I going be a star. Baby you can drive my car. And maybe I love you. How about this: But i wandered through my playing cards And would not let her be One of sixteen vestal virgins Who were leaving for the coast And although my eyes were open They might have just as well've been closed
dbflash
The Beatles:Drive My Car A song that mentions the Beatles: Now Lucy looks sweet cause he dresses like a queen But he can kick like a mule it's a real mean team But we can love oh yes we can love And my brother's back at home with his Beatles and his Stones We never got it off on that revolution stuff

jacksonbart
Here is one "They pulled in just behind the fridge He lays her down, he frowns "Gee my life's a funny thing, am I still too young?" He kissed her then and there She took his ring, took his babies It took him minutes, took her nowhere Heaven knows, she'd have taken anything, but"
dbflash
I just discoverd that I know alot of songs and who did them, but i have to start listening to the words more. I just figured out 'He Stopped Loving Her Today" 2 years ago. I always thought the song said He put a wreath upon the door, not They put a wreath... I just figured out 'He Stopped Loving Her Today" 2 years ago. I always thought the song said He put a wreath upon the door, not They put a wreath... I agree-- I guess I imagined what the lyrics were for so many songs I grew up with-- and now with the computer age, you can look up any lyric , and so often its different than what you thought it was-- And so many lyrics were just made up words that seemed to mean something -- Does "Pompitous of Love" mean anything? jacksonbart
was on the charts in 1975, the singer is British not American (hint) and not a member of the Beatles, though John Lennon did produce the album that this song appeared. jacksonbart
Here is some more of it "Scanning life through the picture windowShe finds the slinky vagabondHe coughs as he passes her Ford Mustang, butHeaven forbid, she'll take anythingBut the freak, and his type, all for nothingHe misses a step and cuts his hand, butShowing nothing, he swoops like a songShe cries, 'Where have all Papa's heroes gone?' These are the three line clue we started with: You ride on the swing in and out of the bars Capturing moments of life in a jar Playing with children, acting as stars Three line hint: Take extra care not to lose what up feel The apple you're eating is simple and real Water the flowers that grow at you heel Another hint: This song appeared on the groups most popular LP which at the time carried a different title. The LP was later changed to the name of this song. Greg
