J Tanman
Hi, I am new to this forum and am new to using Klipsch speakers. I just got a pair of KLF 20s and need to match a center and surround for it. As of right now, I have a RC-7 and a pair of RS-3s on order. I have about three days to make any changes. I was wondering which would be better, an RC-7 or a C-7 as my center speaker? The C-7 is ~$200 less and is a Legend series (better voice matching?), but the RC-7 is newer, but is it better? With the price difference, I could upgrade to the RS-7 for surrounds, would they be overkill for my system? Thanks for any suggestions, they are much appreciated. dougdrake2
J - Get the KLF-C7 center. It is tonal matched to the 20s for a better front soundstage. DD2

aab3rd
Definitly go with the KLF-C7 for center. As far as surrounds you could also try to find some KSP-S6 surround speakers. They can be pricy(or not) depending on where you find them (dealer with old stock or on e-bay etc.). I bought mine from a dealer who wanted to get rid of them since he quit handeling Klipsch and I paid $375. You can find them on internet sometimes and they range from $350 to $600 for a pair. These were the original speakers meant to match the KLF line. PhilH
J Tanman Actually, there never were any surround speakers designed specifically to match Legends. The best combo with Legends I have heard to date are the RS-7's, even with the tweeter difference the match is surprisingly close. The bass is our deepest yet for a set of surrounds also, so add their higher efficiency to that and you've got some really dynamic table rattling surrounds. If you can still find a KLFC-7 as center, because the center/main timbre match is the most critical, I would lean towards that. J Tanman
Thanks for the great advice. I just placed orders for the KLF-C7 and the 2 RS-7s. I cancelled my other orders. I'm really looking forward to hearing them all together.
