Going back to Klipsch

I used to have a full Klipsch set up, with kg4's as my mains, and other

assorted Klipsch for center and surrounds. I now have a full Ascend

surround setup, with 340's in the front and 170 surrounds. SVS

subwoofer. The Ascends are great, however, I long for the Klipsch

sound again, and here is what I am contemplating:

KLF 30's as mains

RC-7 or KLF-C7 center

My old kg4's as rear surrounds. I love those things.

I have a parasound 85 wpc amp for the front 3, and an HK AVR 230 doing the rest.

Any thoughts about which center is better suited for the KLF 30's, or

what to look for when searching for used KLF 30's? I have about $1200

to spend across the front for speakers, so any other ideas are also

welcome. Thanks.

The KLF- C7 is going to work the best as a center for the KLF-30's.

You are right about the KG4's, they are great speakers and were the first Klipsch spealers I ever owned. However, they aren't the best match for your fronts. More legend series are what you really need for seemless surround. [:)]

Not that this is you, but doesn't this sound familiar?

Like Klipsch... $1500 spent to get Klipsch.

Something better for $1500. Sold my Klipsch for $800, and with another $700, got my new stuff.

Sure liked Klipsch. Selling my old stuff for $800, and with another $700, will get some Klipsch again...

Let's see.... For the $1500 Klipsch, we've spent $2900. At least 'til the next improvement. [;)]

We should call this group "the ever-tweakers."

Maybe the KLF20's might be the way to go. The only thing I didn't like about my old KLF10's, was that the midrange wasn't as smooth and detailed as the KLF20 and 30. A Legend series centre would be the perfect match. The surrounds are not so crucial, in my opinion, for home theatre. Any of the multitude of Klipsch models will suffice - they're all good.
