Mini Mac!

Dee, I went to AudioDeminsions yesterday and had a demo of the McIntosch media server and it was nothing short of impressive. You should drop by and check it out. The price tag was high but the functionality was incredible.

BTW, WRT the Escient system JVC had a repackaged earlier version of that called the Entre.

You can typically pick them up for a couple of hundred dollars now and on its own it can be used as a MP3 jukebox. It gives the full OSD with CD title lookups over the internet with cover art and such. The HD in it was a little small stock but upgrading it to a larger drive isn't very difficult. I think there were also external units that allowed for streaming MP3s elsewhere in the house served out of the Entre.

I use the Entre to control/catalog the JVC 400 disc changers it worked with.

Sfogg, I sincerely hope that McIntosch is doing more than rebranding because rebranfing and charging $5100.. It looks like the E2-300 music server msrp is $3,999.

Dee, The store is on Bowman down the street from CompUSA. They carry B&W speakers, classe, Mcintosh, rotel, and marantz gear.

Seti,

Yeh, I am hoping to do it on the cheap. but Thanks for the link. That is a very nice unit and is loaded with music and bundled with the CD jukeboxes. Not a bad deal for what is offered. It would be pretty pricey to gather that gear new.

Well it comes with an 8gb hard drive stock, but you can either put a bigger one in yourself, or buy a pre modded xbox.

Heres some detailed instructions on how to mod one yourself. You will need a way to copy a game save from your computer to an xbox memory card, and a copy of a certian game, which you can rent.
