Good day forum members

i am helping my sister build her her Ht system system. she already has a pair of KG 5.2. they are working . however the rubber surround on both woofers are damaged, where could i find replacement parts ? also there is another set for sale with the same problem, would it make since to buy them and get the repair parts and save some cash.,+the matching speakers all around. How to check the horn for proper operation? what is a good matching center ?

thanks in advance for all the help

peace

Two things come to mind. One the parts department at Klispch will

hvae these woofers, have no idea of the cost, though. Second,

www.partsexpress.com has cone repair kits but I'm not sure if they have

them for rubber surrounds.

My secondary system runs the 5.2 it's a wonderful speaker. Start

them out about 7ft apart on center and about a foot from the wall and

adjust from there. Also if the bass sounds to "boomy" for you dro

your 8ohm tap on your receiver/amp down to 4ohm. Any of the KV

center speakers will be "timber" matched with the 5.2's and I woud

recommend KG 1.5's (bookshelves) for the rears on a HT setup. Depending

on the room mount them at ear level or higher using sturdy brackets.

Hope this helps.

If it's just the surround , i had found a company on the internet about a year ago ,can't recall the name of the company but they sold a kit to replace surrounds. I had a pair of old baby Advents i use in the shop and the foam was gone. They had replacements for almost any speaker, The kit was very cheap like $15 or so and was very easy to do ,shim the center after removing the dust cover and glue on the new surround then glue a new dust cover on , let dry and good as new. Everything is supplied , It is really much easier then it sounds, and cheap.
